Social Media

Twitter, Blogger, Linkedin............and of course Facebook.   Do I understand the potential - have to say "no"............ but the trend for communicating business is to use these Social Media outlets.  We (at Ellesmere Port Enterprise Coaching Project ) are looking to have a coffee morning with "tweet and twitter"......... 
Phil Jones from Brother printers says give "social media/ twitter" 3 months of your time, lurk, tweet and follow .............. so I am being impatient thinking I would "understand" within a few weeks.
Time will tell!!

What a busy week!  Great catching up with existing and meeting new clients PLUS our first Enterprise Coaching Project Local Coaching Group Away Day in Winsford.  With Open Space / World Cafe style activity, lots of great ideas shared, the energy at the Away Day was fantastic.  The Enterprise Coaching Project is 13 months in, with NWDA funding til March 2011.  Some great discussion on how the support can continue and be sustained in each of the 7 areas of Cheshire and Warrington.

At the end of the week, Dave Yardley (Green Button Motivational Training) came into Stanlaw Abbey Business Centre and ran a workshop for us. Great Day Dave - thank you! And thank you to all participants.

I am still working on developing an understanding of "Social Media" for business............... tweeting, blogging and linkedin............ all will become clear I am sure - but still not sure of what is best investment of time.

Enterprise Week Challenge: Pitch to the Dragons 2

What an Enterprise week - with our final event day "Pitch to the Dragons" going so well.  The Dragons, Tracey, Les, Glyn and Paul took their role very seriously, as did all the presenters: Dave, Noel, Mike, Jenny and Laura, Joanne and Jamie. The energy was high throughout. With positivity and confidence our presenters stepped up to the mark and gave their "pitch" then dealt well with lots of challenging questions from the Dragons.  It was wonderful to watch each presentation, with our Dragons giving their full attention to each person and offering lots of valuable feedback and offers of support.  Lots of fun, congratulations, hand-shakes and support for everyone throughout the day.   I could not have asked for a better day. Thank you all who contributed.

Enterprise Week Activities

What an exciting week.  On Monday we had a great day with Jamie Evans (of Cheeky Chop Theatre Group) leading a Master Class.  Everyone participated in exercises and fun activities which built confidence in the way we present ourselves to others.
Day 2 (Tuesday) - opportunity to work with Jamie in a 1-2-1 session to explore individual barriers and develop more skills PLUS a great workshop with Sally Inkster, Style Consultant - more confidence building!
Also at event, lending support to participants were Carol from Cheshire West and Cheshire Council Economic Development Team, Helen from West Cheshire Credit Union and Kay from HSBC.
The day ended with............... Carol and myself stuck in the lift........... with Tracey (Community Development Team) racing across Town to our rescue!!

Friday = the final event day - with 6 wonderful participants giving their "Perfect Pitch to the Dragons"
